Fire safety in health care premises.

Patients and visitors to healthcare premises will not be familiar with buildings or the fire safety measures and procedures that are in place. Healthcare staff have a key role to ensure the safety of everyone who could be present. Healthcare premises are required to have high standards of fire safety built into the fabric of the building together with robust fire safety procedures. In order that the safety from fire of all building occupants can be ensured, healthcare staff must have sufficient fire safety knowledge and skills to prevent fire and act effectively should one occur.
